WE ARE A TEAM OF EXPERIENCED AND REGISTERED PROFESSIONALSDR STEPHEN BLUMENTHAL
Dr Stephen Blumenthal is Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst, and is a member of the British Psychoanalytical Society. He has worked in the NHS and in private practice for over 25 years. He specialises in the treatment of a range of clinical problems, including depression, anxiety, trauma and personality difficulties.
He works at Queen Ann Street Practice and has a post of consultant at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust. As well as his trainings in psychology, psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, he is also trained in Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT). In addition to his clinical, research and teaching work, Dr Blumenthal is an experienced supervisor and consultant. He has a particular interest in understanding the connection between the mind and behaviour, and the risk of acting out in ways which are harmful to self and others. He is interested in understanding and helping men and women with a variety of difficulties, including depression and anxiety, psychosexual difficulties, including sex addiction, and managing and expressing feelings of anger.
Dr Blumenthal’s wide range of training and experience with a variety of therapeutic methods provides the foundation for his approach to assessing a person for psychological therapy. He believes that assessment needs very careful thought about a person’s presenting issues, the approach that fits with them and what is likely to be most effective for their particular problems.
